Abstract

The elderly population is increasingly growing toward population explosion of grandmothers. Also, their hygiene, health, comfort, and welfare are of important perspectives. Therefore, this study was conducted to compare the life satisfaction of the elderly women at home with that of women at nursing home in Kermanshah. To conduct this study, a standard questionnaire (LSIA) was distributed among 140 elderly women. Then the quantitative data were analyzed by SPSS 20. The total average of life satisfaction among women in the nursing home was 16.36 ± 5.94, where as it was 20.86 ± 2.93 for women reside at home. The result revealed that life satisfaction of elderly women at home was significantly higher because of their social support and family affection and respect.
